You can pick your friends, you can pick your nose...
NOTE: The following is coming from a guy that has had FOUR last names since birth (except for my biological one), remembers meeting his dad for the first time (I was raised by my Granny until Mom remarried when I was 5), met his father for the first time 5 years ago and re-met his sister as well (we grew up together until I was 3) and is currently undergoing all the legal stuff to rectify this as well as measuring for a new kilt in my family's tartan which took 13 years to track down...
So, my friend Kevan has decided that it is time for a middle name.
And quite frankly, I say...why not!
For those of you who cannot resist the opportunity to name a child that you need not feed, change, burp nor have to
put through college, the link to his site is right over here ------------>
It's like this...his entire family (his older brother is one of my best friends) was "reborn" some time ago (fortunately, they didn't drink the kool-aid)
and during this process, they chose new names which we all know and love them by.
Somewhere along the way, middle name selection day was missed
and Kevan...
being Kevan...
felt that it was time to do something about this.
And so Kevan...
being Kevan...
decided to...in typical Kevan fashion...
hold a "Name Kevan's new middle name" contest.

Now I for one can completely understand what Kevan is experiencing and I also understand why he is embarking on such a momentous decision. Missing a name is like having the entire side of orange missing from a Rubik's Cube...you can't solve the puzzle, now can you?
You never will feel like a complete person until you get one.
The Dr. Phils (Lord help us...), the naysayers and the "get over it" types can all turn right around and disembark from that bus they've clamoured onto...it's not going anywhere...
Before you say anything, stop and think for a moment...what is your name??
How long have you had it??
Are there people in your life that know you by another name from the rest of your social circles?
And NO!!! Getting married doesn't count!!!
And besides, how many women retain their maiden name anyway,
be it for familial or business reasons...?
Hmmmm???

And why is that?
Hmmmm???
Exactly...they prefer it that way.
Because that's who they are...or who they want to be.And in this day and age, just being yourself can be a pretty hard thing to do...
especially when you don't know who that is.
especially when you don't know who that is.
