Some things you just can't wrap up...

The best birthdays are never about what you got...they're about where you were, what you did and who you were with. As with Christmas, they can be times when miracles can happen. Sure I got the Weeble-Wobble Treehouse with the entire Weeble-Wobble family; it had an elevator inside the middle of the trunk, big enough for the car to fit too! And a Canadian Tire semi truck with trailer and the doors even opened AND the trailer was wide enough for the Weeble-Wobble car to drive right on up the ramp and into the trailer. Which was good to know, in case the Weeble-Wobbles had to move across the country due to a job transfer or some other event like that. But that year was the first year that I got what I really wanted...what I had been hoping for. And that was the opportunity for the doctors to turn off the oxygen feed long enough, to pull back the bubble so that my mom could give me a hug and play with me for a few minutes before having to be zipped back up in the pure and plastic environment in which I had been isolated in. I even got to have a popsicle that day, my first one. It was grape because I liked grapes and I wasn't allergic to them. And even though I was allergic to her and the room we were in along with the air in that room, Mom still gave me a big hug and kiss. And then we got down to the serious business of playing House and Cars. And that was the first day I realized that sometimes the rules have to be broken. And tht was also the first day I was allowed to think and feel outside of the box. I still have every toy in that picture, original packaging and everything. And one day, there will be a little one that gets to discover the secret elevator as well as how yummy grape flavoured frozen water can be. And the thought process shall begin anew.
