"He sat naked and drunk in a room of summer night" click to read on

In this day and age of

the bible-thumping,
blinded by freedom,
mightier-than-thou,
spin doctor doctor give me the news
talking heads that shall overcome and prevail,
it is reassuring
to know that the just causes
have not all been
forgotten.

To know that there are those that are
deeply offended by the blatant lack of offense
in the poetry which we read,
a shortage of truth through obscenity
in the great works of our Latin brethren;
dear Cattalus,
brave Horace,
noble Ovid,
is to
know
a
nobler quest
for truth.

Who better
to guide us
than
our
beloved groundskeeper
of
worlds
running riot
with
drunken words,

wild horses
and proud whores?

It's time for you to stop listening and start reading.
Who knows... you might even like it.

Much love as always,

B
